This June, we handed over our kitchen to someone who knows that food can speak volumes, even when words fall short. Meet Chef Syoks, our Guest Chef of the month of June 2025, whose signature dishes weren’t just packed with flavour, they were packed with feeling.
With a deep love for food and a story behind every spice, Syoks came in not just to cook, but to connect. His limited-time menu honoured a group often celebrated too little and understood too late, fathers. And what better way to say “thank you” than through the kind of meal that warms more than your stomach?
A Menu Made for the Men Who Show Up Quietly
June carries special weight. It’s when we pause to appreciate the dads, father figures, uncles, granddads, the men who lead with action more than words. Inspired by this, Syoks designed a menu that captured all the little ways fathers show love: With boldness, strength, tenderness, and consistency.
“I wanted to create food that felt like a quiet nod of appreciation,” he shared. “Something hearty, honest, and full of heart, just like the men it honours.”
From the Hungry Man Breakfast to the Full House Burger, every item told a story. The Tuscan Creamy Chicken brought warmth and comfort. The Chimichurri Wings delivered a fiery kick, loud, proud, and impossible to ignore. And even the Crunchy Red Cabbage Salad had something to say: refreshing, honest, and full of texture, like the layered personalities of the men we love.
More Than a Menu, A Tribute
The Guest Chef experience is never just about what’s on the plate. It’s about the people behind it, the stories they carry, and the moments they choose to honour.
For Chef Syoks, this was a full-circle moment.
“This was a dream come true. But more than that, it was a chance to give back, to the men who shaped me, supported me, and taught me to dream in the first place.”
