A Shared Vision for Change
In March 2024, Java House and the World Food Programme (WFP) joined hands in a strategic partnership to champion three core areas:
- School feeding in underserved communities
- Nutrition and healthy diets
- Youth empowerment through innovation
The goal was simple yet powerful: turn awareness into action.
From Java House Guests to Kakuma: How Community Made a Difference
Between March and September 2024, a storewide campaign invited guests to contribute to this cause. With every coffee, meal, or moment spent at Java, our guests became part of something greater, helping us support school feeding programmes in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs).
But the impact didn’t end there.
In April 2025, the funds helped construct two energy-saving stoves at Peace Primary School in Kakuma Refugee Camp. These stoves now enable efficient, reliable meal preparation for students, supporting their health, focus, and attendance.
Building a Future, One Meal at a Time
School meals are more than just food, they’re a pathway to better education, improved wellbeing, and a stronger community. By making school feeding more sustainable, we’re helping build a foundation for long-term change.
This partnership reflects what’s possible when businesses and communities come together with purpose. It’s a reminder that even small actions, can drive real impact where it’s needed most.
What’s Next?
Our work with WFP is only beginning. As we look ahead, we remain committed to building a better future, one fueled by partnership, powered by community, and grounded in purpose.
Together, we’re not just serving meals. We’re feeding hope.
